Project Civil Engineer | San Diego Office

REC is a medium sized civil engineering, Water Resources, Land Surveying and environmental firm based in San Diego, California since 1993, REC consultants has provided a multi-disciplined approach to a variety of land use and construction related projects throughout Southern California. We are rapidly expanding and are seeking a candidate for the Project Engineer position.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform, supervise, and coordinate professional civil engineering work in the office and in the field, and to perform related work as required. Under general supervision, Project Engineer perform complex engineering research and design project work and have responsibility for wide variety of engineering projects or programs. As Project Engineers, the candidate may be responsible for leading groups of professional and supervising technical staff.


Project Engineers can potentially be expected to be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Serve as a group lead/supervisor, or project leader, by preparing engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates related to departmental projects and programs.
  • Prepare engineering documents including grading plans, improvement plans, site plans and general utility plans.
  • Utilize computer software to develop engineering analysis of design problems in hydraulics and hydrology, drainage and control facilities, grading design, earth work calculations, etc.
  • Review proposed projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare submittal packages to the County or City for approval.
  • Provides responsive, high quality service to clients by providing accurate, complete and up to date information, in a courteous effcient and timely manner.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering in land development field;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • AutoCad 3D, Land Desk V10 or higher experience.
